Together let's find your nature!
Together let's find your nature!
Rewilding is normally described as the process of returning spaces which have been disturbed by humans, back to their original ecological state, or to promote the regrowth of a natural habitat after devastation
When we apply this principal to humans it means much the same thing. It is an undoing of the self domestication us humans have put on ourselves, and returning us to a more natural or wild state!
My goal in introducing rewilding to you is to you get back to your natural state, to help you detach from the technological world and guide you back into the real one, where you can have real experiences with nature, community around you and most importantly yourself.
Hey everyone, my name is Samantha! I am a wild woman, a mother, a wife and a lover of all things wild and natural. I started my journey as a fairly typical 90s baby, born and raised in the flat Canadian Farm country, fairly oblivious to the natural world and its interconnectivity. I had 2 older brothers and a country house surrounded by corn fields. I became a mom early in my adult life and after a few years I relocated from southern Canada to the lush green wild terrain of the Ottawa Valley. There I fell in love with the 50foot pines and the dense mossy forest floor. The thing I fell most in love with were the plants and mushrooms that seemed to sprout up everywhere! After a year of living here I got into a Forestry course and graduated 11 months later, as a Forestry Technician; and although the job prospects I had gained were not super ideal to the single-mommy lifestyle I now had, I had gained the skills and knowledge and more importantly the confidence to really start exploring my passions. From there things just kept getting GREENER; I all but plunged myself head first into the study of wild plants, mushrooms and wild medicinal edibles. I took my children on hikes through old growth forests, mountain trails to glistening frog filled falls, and took as many opportunities to rope my friends and their kids into it all along side us. We purchased guide books on edible plants and munched on as many wild raspberries and blueberries as my kiddos could find. I finally settled down with a charming and hard working Frenchman at the foothills of the Canadian Shield, and our family grew. Now with three kids, and affectionate, clumsy Cane Corso; I started to see how the effects of our fast paced digital world and the pandemic had rocked us all, body and soul. We were not the vibrant, life loving people we once were. So I traveled back to where I had found peace, joy and really deep connections. I went Into The Forest.
